Cha Cha

The Cha-Cha is the dance that allows you to relax
and show your personality.

History:

Probably the most popular latin dance in the United States, the Cha-Cha begins like a variation of the Mambo. This dance was completely easy and pleasing to do when it made its debut in the 50's.
When we hear the rhythm of the Cha-Cha, it is impossible to stay in your seat.
Everyone is able, and must learn to dance the Cha-Cha.

Music:

The music of the Cha-Cha is written in the timing of 4/4 and played in a variety of tempos. Often, in Cha-Cha, we are able to hear a rhythmic link between each measure of music, which gives us a count of 1,2,3,4&.
This count repeats itself throughout the song.

Characteristics:

A triple step, which we call the chase, and the rock steps are the base elements of this dance. Since this dance was derived from the Rumba and the Mambo, the cuban motion is important.
