The Discotheques with a good musical quality and flamboyant lighting shows became very popular in Europe and in America at the end of the 60's. In the beginning of the 70's, a new dance emerged and became very popular in the dance clubs in New York. This "Touch Disco" was called the Hustle. The Hustle marked the return of the couples dances. The popularity of the "Modern" and "Retro" music with the "Disco" accents keep this dance young, exciting and full of energy still today.
Music:
The Disco music is generally written in the timing 2/4 or 4/4, with one of the accents pronounced. The melody is based on the rhythms of the blues and the accents on all measures really make you feel the music. It is difficult to resist!
