Viennese Waltz

The Waltz of Strauss et ballets of Tchaikovsky are coupled with the music of contemporary artists. The Viennese Waltz has inspired people to dance for many generations.

History:
The Waltz was developed in central Europe and comes from the austrian dance known as the "Landler". The grand circular movements in this dance require a closed dance position and very close to your partner. These two innovations shocked the high society of the period. The music of Johann Strauss in the famous ballrooms of Vienna, popularized this dance and its faster version known as the Viennese Waltz.

Music:

The music of the Viennese Waltz is simply a faster version of the music of the slow Waltz. The last uses between 28 and 36 measures per minute (MPM), where the Viennese Waltz utilizes 50 to 60. It is generally played in 3/4 timing, but certain Viennese Waltzes are written in 6/8.

Characteristics:
The graceful circular movements executed quickly on the dance floor are characteristic of this dance The Viennese Waltz is known for these grand rotating movements which are simple and elegant at the same time.
